In the past few months, lay leaders from St. Mark’s Parish in Limón, Costa Rica, and lay leaders from Christ Church Cathedral, Houston, gathered on Zoom to plan a VBS called Hero Hotline. The theme “striving for peace and building each other up,” is not just a focus but a reflection of their companionship throughout the years. Their continuous visits and engagements have made it possible to know one another, pray together, share ministry, and have strong connections. There is a mutual understanding of building each other up for the glory of God’s kingdom on earth.
On July 2-10, the leaders brought their plans to life with Hero Hotline, welcoming 62 HEROES for some fun, fellowship, and connection at St. Mark’s in Limón. Hero Hotline was a call to action for Heroes of all ages, inviting participants to serve God and others. The Heroes were actively engaged in various learning opportunities to deepen their understanding of the Bible lesson of the day. They discovered the importance of following Jesus, helping others, and listening to God’s call.
