Canon for Mission Amplification Joann Saylors Accepts Position in Diocese of Pittsburgh

Joann Saylors, who has served as Canon for Mission Amplification in the Diocese of Texas since July of 2017 has announced that she has accepted a new position in the Diocese of Pittsburgh. She will be the Canon to the Ordinary for Mission, Vitality, and Administration, starting April 1.

Bishop Andy Doyle said, โ€œCanon Saylors has shown creativity, faithfulness, and a genuine commitment to mission in her time here. She has made a real difference to congregations and communities across the diocese. We wish her well in this new season and know that the Diocese of Pittsburgh will be enriched by her gifts.โ€

Saylors shares, โ€œI am eager to serve in and learn from a context very different from where Iโ€™ve been, and Iโ€™m excited to share the learnings from my time in the Diocese of Texas with the Diocese of Pittsburgh.โ€ Born in Pittsburgh, Saylors is relocating to where some of her family still resides but also looks forward to spending time in Dallas when her schedule permits.

The Episcopal Diocese of Texas wishes Canon Saylors the best in this new ministry endeavor. The Diocese of Texas will conduct a search process to find her successor. In the interim, Canon Christine Faulstich will be the point of contact for Mission Amplification inquiries.
